Capital Market: As of 30th December 2001 the total issued
capital of all listed securities of Dhaka Stock Exchange was Tk. 33,254
million (US$ 583 mil.) which was Tk. 32,556 million (US$ 571 mil.)
on 30th September 2001.
In Chittagong Stock Exchange the total issued capital on 30th
December 2001 was Tk. 29,505 million
(US$ 518 million).

Stock Market Operation: During October-
December 2001 quarter the total turnover in Dhaka Stock Exchange was 828.92
million securities. While the total amount traded in Dhaka Stock Exchange
during the same period was Tk. 11,436.62 million (US$ 200.64 mil.)

the Chittagong Stock Exchange 246.42 million securities were traded for Tk. 4,873.24 million (US$ 85.49
mil.) during this quarter.

Market Capitalization: Total market capitalization of all securities
listed with the Dhaka Stock Exchange was Tk 63,769 million (US$ 1,119 mil.)
as on 30th December 2001 compared to Tk 66,534
million (US$ 1,167 mil.) as on 30th
September 2001

was 1433.59 on 30th September 2001. The index bases are 100
and 1000 for DSE and CSE respectively
