Court cases: The total number of pending court cases filed by and against SEC in different courts are 73. A list of these cases with the names of courts in which these are pending is given below:

Share scam cases of 1996: Out of 28 share scam cases 14 cases are now pending before the Appellate Division and 11 cases before the High Court Division of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. The remaining 03 cases are now pending before the trial court (2^nd Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Court, Dhaka) for trial.

Violation of Securities Laws etc.: The Commission has filed a case at the CMM court, Dhaka against Olympic Industries Ltd. (Former Bengal Carbide Ltd.) and its directors for violation of securities laws in issuing rights shares.
